UN partners reported that more than 3,400 children went for treatment for acute malnutrition between the first and twenty-third of this month.
Despite challenges faced by aid organizations in Gaza, WHO and its partner, Relief International, have set up a new acute malnutrition treatment centre in Deir al-Balah. This means that there are only four centers operating in this field throughout the Gaza Strip, one in Khan Younis, another in Gaza City and two in Deir al-Balah.The health sector faces shortages of medicines, equipment, fuel, food and water.
Despite the challenges, UN health partners have delivered supplies and worked to establish additional health points at displacement sites in Gaza City.
